Ingredients
10 oz Brookshire’s Frozen Chopped Spinach, thawed and drained
4 oz Brookshire’s Cream Cheese, softened
1/2 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1/2 cup pepper jack cheese, shredded
1/2 cup Brookshire’s Sour Cream
3 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 (17 oz) box puff pastry (2 sheets), thawed according to package directions
2 Tbs unsalted butter, melted
2 tsp fresh parsley leaves, finely chopped
1/4 tsp red chile flakes
Directions
- Preheat oven to 400° F. Squeeze excess moisture from the spinach. Place spinach in a large bowl. Add the three cheeses, sour cream, garlic, salt and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Unfold pastry sheets onto a large baking sheet lined with Simply Done® Parchment Paper. Roll out each pastry sheet to 8 x 12 in size. Place one sheet on top of the other one. Use a pizza cutter to cut into a large tree-shaped triangle. Save the excess dough.
- Separate the dough sheets. Spread the spinach dip onto the bottom sheet.
- Place the other sheet of dough on top.
- Using the pizza cutter, cut 1-inch branches on each side of the tree. Be careful to leave a 1-inch section in the center of the tree.
- Gently lift and twist each branch.
- Using the scraps of pastry dough, cut a rectangular piece for the trunk. Fold it in half, and tuck it under the bottom of the tree. Cut stars out of the rest of the dough. Prick the stars several times, so they will not puff too much. Place one star on the top of the tree. Place the rest of the stars on the pan around the tree.
- Combine the melted butter with the parsley and chile flakes. Brush the butter over the tree branches and stars. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until puffed and golden. Serve warm.
