Ingredients
3 lbs pears
3/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup brandy
2 Tbs butter
2 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt
Directions
- Peel and core the pears. Cut each into eighths.
- Place all ingredients in a slow cooker, and stir to combine. Turn slow cooker to high.
- Place two skewers or chopsticks on top of the slow cooker, and place the lid on top. The lid will need to vent while the fruit cooks.
- Cook for 5 hours (stirring every hour) until fruit is a thick, spreadable consistency. Take off the lid, and let the fruit cool in the slow cooker.
- Use an immersion blender or food processor to puree to desired consistency. You can also leave it chunky.
- Transfer to a sealed container to refrigerate or freeze.
