Food and birthdays have been intertwined for centuries, and here at FRESH, we are continuing that tradition by celebrating birthdays in a special way. Here is a snazzy recipe to enjoy, and it doesn’t even have to be your birthday!
Lemon Glazed Pound Cake with Berry Compote
3 Tbsp sugar
2 Tbsp lemon juice
1 FRESH pound cake
3 cups mixed berries
2 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp real vanilla extract
Mix 3 tablespoons sugar and lemon juice in small bowl. Brush sugar-lemon mixture on top of pound cake and set aside.
Combine all berry compote ingredients in a saucepan over low heat. Allow 2 tablespoons sugar to dissolve. Bring to a simmer and let simmer for about a minute. Remove from heat.
Drizzle compote over sliced pound cake and enjoy!
