FRESH and Festive: Pint-sized Freshies take over the Taste Kitchen!

Kids love to be in the kitchen! I don’t blame them one bit.  But these pint size foodies simply light up at the chance to stir a little here and there, mix, measure and taste test. And no matter what age your little one is, there is a way the whole family can benefit in learning to cook together.

Kids that get some time in the kitchen are willing to try new and unusual foods, recognize nutritional value, expand motor and language skills and just think they can start making dinner soon! We would like to invite you and your kids to our Taste Kitchen for Kid’s Korner.

Kids Korner will be back in full swing on Tuesday, September 4th at 4:00pm. Yippeee!

We have fine-tuned the recipe for this cooking class. It will now be every other Tuesday starting at 4:00pm and ending at 5:15pm. The class fee will be $10.00 per child ranging in age from 7-12years old. 6 year olds can attend the class with supervision of parent. Your little foodie will take home a FRESH apron to wear to each class. We will be providing gelato and fruit cups as snacks before the classes begin.

Here is a kid friendly sweet treat that you can do with your miniature Freshies at home for practice.

Nana Berry Smart Tarts

4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 Tbs honey
1 pkg (10 oz) frozen sweetened raspberries, thawed and undrained
1 cup miniature marshmallows
1 medium firm banana, chopped
1 cup whipped topping
1 pkg (6 count) individual graham cracker tart shells

In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and honey until smooth; beat in raspberries until blended. Stir in marshmallows and banana. Fold in whipped topping. Spoon into tart shells. Chill until serving.
