Friday’s theme will be exotic summer fruits. Richard will talk about some of these items including Melons, Black Velvet Apricots, Peach Pie Peaches, Mango Nectarines, Lychees, Young Coconuts and more! Friday’s featured sampling item will be a cut melon variety. The featured variety will be a “pick of the week” depending on best flavor that week. Each week Melissa’s team cuts, tastes, and brixes all the melon varieties with an instrument that measures the sweetness called a “Refractometer”.
The variety with the highest brix reading will be cut for sampling…exciting! Likely one of these varieties will be chosen: Canary, Casaba, Crenshaw, Galia, Gaya, Hami, Gold or Orange Honeydew, Persian, Santa Claus or Sharlyn.
Saturday’s theme will be Summer Salads & related veggies. Richard will talk about some of these items including Melissa’s line of steamed veggies from France, Melissa’s Couscous mix and all sorts of fresh ingredients. Saturday’s featured recipe will be fresh salad.
