Do your kids like to cook? Or do you simply WISH they’d like to cook? Then start bringing them to our new Kids’ Corners special events on Wednesdays, when we turn kids loose in the kitchen and see what they can create.
Today is our special Birthday Party Kids’ Corner, starting at 3:30 for kids ages 4 and up.
Parents and grandparents are allowed to stay and watch the fun, but no cooking – we leave that for the kids themselves.
Since starting this event a few weeks ago, we’ve had kids roll their own meatballs, cook up quesadillas, and whip up a batch of natural no-bake cookies. (See below to make some yourself!)
We host them every other Wednesday, so if you can’t make it today, come back March 21, for a session on Fun Fruits, or April 4, for Natural Egg Coloring, just in time for Easter.
The cost for the first session you attend is $10, which gets your child a special kid-sized FRESH apron. After that, your FRESH apron serves as your “ticket” into the event. I love cooking with children – just ask mine – and I hope to see yours at one of our Kids’ Corners events very soon.
Tropical No Bake Cookies
3/4 cup cashew butter
1 cup granola (we used orange almond) or oats
1/4 – 1/2 cup agave nectar
1/2 cup dried papaya
1/4 cup flaked coconut
1/4 cup pineapple, diced
Mix all ingredients until well combined. Use more or less agave nectar, depending on the consistency you prefer. Roll into balls and place on wax paper. Allow to chill for approximately 30 minutes before eating.
