The whole idea of Labor Day is to honor the workers of America, whose labor and sacrifices built this country.
So why would you want to celebrate it by, well, working?
If you’re hosting friends and family for a Labor Day gathering, why not keep the work to a minimum? A labor-less Labor Day, if you will.
My suggested party spread would be some pulled pork, house-made at FRESH, made into mini-sliders with our brioche buns; a selection of cool, pre-made salads, like our new southwestern quinoa; and a tray of cookies and lemon bars from our in-house pastry department.
To drink? Well, Labor Day traditionally signals the end of summer, but in Texas, not so much. Since we’re still “enjoying” hot days and warm nights, try this cool, refreshing “mocktail” with fresh lemon and ginger. It’s a great way to toast the last few days _or in our case, weeks _ of summer.
